..... "George" was accepted into the 1993 Society of Illustrators Student Show in New York City and won the $1,500 Jellybean Photographics Award. This painting was also featured on the cover of the show's catalog.

..... I began this painting with random brush strokes. After the first session, I looked and saw an owl in the patterns, which I painted on top of the original layer. It was fun to use pure colors for this.

.....This painting is based on 3 photos I took in Branford, CT. in 1997. The boat in the painting was destroyed that night during a storm. My mistake! I hadn't tied the proper "Bowline" knot. The boat got loose and broke apart on the rocks you see in the painting. I did buy another Force 5 a few weeks later.
